Paladin offers cardanol based Novolac resins that can be used as cross linkers for one-component epoxy resins that are employed in prepregs and pultrusion processes. Formulators looking for high bio-based content, application-friendly, and high performance solutions can benefit from our offerings.
CARDANOL NOVOLAC RESIN

Paladin’s CPN-3002 series offers products based on cardanol technology, making them high bio-based content phenolic resins. They can be formulated as epoxy crosslinkers in long pot life systems as well as heat-cured systems. This class of low to high viscosity Novolacs is high in functionality and equivalent weight. Formulators can achieve excellent moisture and chemical resistance, improved wetting properties and adhesion to composite components.

Paladin’s Novolacs have high miscibility with epoxy resins and can be alternatives to or used in combination with petroleum based phenolic resins depending on the system. Epoxy resins do not react with Novolacs at room temperature, but crosslink at 80-120°C in presence of a catalysts such as imidazole or Lewis acids. Paladin CPN-3002 series can be used in both one or two component epoxy formulations.
